IRISH people enjoy a pretty good reputation abroad. We're known for being friendly, fun and always up for the craic. Universally adored, right? But what about in our own country?
In a discussion thread started on Reddit on June 23, a user named Citizen_Ken sparked a discussion about what Irish people think of their own with one simple question: "What's a harsh truth about Ireland from the Irish people?"
The question generated a flood of replies from the Irish weighing in on their fellow countrymen and women.
Issues such as ambition, alcoholism, and the Irish government all came up as the discussion became more heated.
One response, written by BordNaMonaLisa, noted: "We're not really as well loved abroad as we think", adding that "sure the football fans are great ambassadors & all that but in reality, most nations know little & care even less about people from Ireland".
