WATCH: Roy Keane calls Sam Allardyce 'silly' and 'stupid' following corruption exposure

IT’S been a tough old week for Sam Allardyce and Roy Keane is the latest to have his say on his departure as England manager.

Former Limerick FC boss Allardyce left his post with the Football Association after just one game and 67 days in charge after falling foul of a corruption sting set up by The Telegraph.

Video footage appeared to show the 61-year-old advising would-be businessmen on how to exploit his employer’s regulations on third-party ownership of players in the lucrative transfer market.

Allardyce was also filmed negotiating the prospect of a £400,000 payment to represent a make-belief Far East firm, despite having been on a £3m-per-year salary with the FA.

Following a meeting with his employers the day after Monday's revelations, Allardyce and the FA parted company, and lower profile cases of similar corruption in the game have since emerged.

Keane, the Republic of Ireland assistant manager and vocal pundit, spoke openly about his views on this week’s biggest talking point in the sport during ITV’s Champions League highlights programme on Wednesday night.

“It’s not been a great few days for the game, but I suppose when there’s so much money involved in the game there will always be greed,” he said.

“But we have to be careful – there’s a lot of allegations against certain people – and you’re innocent until proven guilty.

“Sam is only guilty of being silly and stupid.”
