Video: Shane Long serenades Southampton team-mates with own version of My Way

IRELAND striker Shane Long could prove vital to any success Martin O’Neill’s men have on the field at Euro 2016 next month, but he seems fit enough to entertain the masses off the field as well.

The Tipperary native is known for getting his guitar out when the drink is flowing and Southampton’s end of season award ceremony proved a fitting enough reason to put on a performance.

Nothing new there, but it sounds as though the 29-year-old has been having some singing lessons as he belts out his own version of My Way, the classic popularised by Frank Sinatra.

Listen to Long’s voice in all its glory as he puts the finishing touches on his song in the video below, originally posted on Twitter by Southampton's first team physical coach Jan Kluitenberg.

Meanwhile, Long may have a new compatriot in Southampton’s first team next season as the Saints have announced 17-year-old Kilkenny native Thomas O’Connor has signed a professional deal having graduated from the club’s prestigious youth academy.
