IRISH eyes were smiling as Daniel O'Donnell waltzed his way around a shamrock-emblazoned floor in his first Strictly Come Dancing performance.
Decked out in a long-tail black tuxedo, the 53-year-old and dance partner Kristina Rihanoff impressed the judges, who described the Donegal singer as the perfect gentleman, scoring them 24 out of 40.
“I want to go as far in the competition as I’m good enough to go and if that’s all the way then I will be thrilled,” he said.
“When I dance on stage during my shows, I am never on the same spot two nights on a row so I obviously have to be a little bit more choreographed for Strictly and remember to be at the right place at the right time,” he joked prevoiusly.
