Two arrested for defacing books of condolence for murdered Garda Colm Horkan

TWO PEOPLE have been arrested for separate incidents which saw public books of condolence for murdered Garda Colm Horkan defaced.

Books of condolence have been opened in Garda stations around the country, for members of the public to write messages of sorrow and support to the Garda's family, friends and colleagues.

However, two men have been arrested-- one in Blanchardstown and one in Tallaght, Dublin-- for defacing the book.

In Blanchardstown, a 23-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly wrote "rat" in the book, later sharing an image of the defaced book on social media alongside laughing emojis, according to The Irish Times.
