IRISH pub chain O’Neill’s is staging a Guinness World Record attempt this evening in pubs all across the country.
At 8pm tonight (Thursday, March 14), people from across all 49 O’Neill’s sites will join together in an attempt to beat the world record for most people Irish dancing at the same time.
Currently, the record stands at 10,036 dancers. The ‘Join the Jig’ record attempt is due to last five minutes and those wishing to take part should arrive at an O’Neill’s pub at 7pm.
In order for the attempt to be valid, all pubs must perform the same jig. Participants will be shown a few Irish steps prior to the event. A live stream of the record attempt will be shown on the O’Neill’s website.
In addition to the jig, O’Neill’s will be hosting a range of events and charity nights all week.
