Irish advice columns from 1967-1972 reveal much about attitudes in Ireland 50 years ago

A NEW book featuring hundreds of rare images and adverts from Ireland in the 1960's and 70's shows how much Irish life has changed in the past decades.

Compiled by pop culture enthusiast Brian McMahon, Brand New Retro, is a collection of over 700 adverts photos and articles.

One section of the book features original advice columns and problem pages from Irish magazines such as New Spotlight, Woman's Way, Miss and Woman's Choice published between 1967 and 1972.

One writer asks if bikinis are immodest, while another wants to know what the word 'virgin' means.
