Father was stabbed in head and stomach as he tried to save dying son
The father of a London Irishman was unable to save his son from a knife attack outside their local pub, a court was told this week. As the murder trial into Luke Fitzpatrick's death moves into its third week at the Old Bailey, Dublin-born Bernard Fitzpatrick relived the moment he saw his son drop to the floor after a knife attack outside the Ox and Gate pub in Dollis Hill, north west London. Bernard Fitzpatrick, 56, was also stabbed in the head, stomach and legs in the attack.

Liverpool Mass for murdered Garda 
The Irish community in Liverpool have paid their respects to murdered detective Garda Adrian Donohoe at a memorial mass held in the city. The garda's sister Anne Donohoe, who moved to the city a few years ago, organised the service in memory of the father-of-two at the Sacred Heart Church.

New documentary on Irish women in London 
'Breaking Ground: the story of the London Irish Women's Centre' is a new film which documents the 29-year history of the London Irish Women's Centre through the eyes of the women who founded, worked and visited the Stoke Newington centre in North London.
