AN GARDA SÍOCHÁNA added a new recruit to its ranks to help police communities during the coronavirus outbreak, and the new officer is un-bearably cute.
Last week, Gardaí discovered a lost teddy bear on the footpath while on patrol in Dublin's East Wall area, and rather than bear-ate him for being outside, they decided they could use a helping hand while they kept the community safe.
Luckily, Gardaí said, "he agreed to help us out for a while restocking gloves and hand sanitiser for Garda duties during Covid-19, but as you can see he's sapped from his long shift and can't 'bear' to be separated from his owner any longer".
An Garda Síochána / FacebookThe Gardaí's unique appeal to find the owner of the lost toy worked like a charm, and the very next day they announced that the new recruit-- who they learned was named 'Ted'-- had been claimed by his delighted owner.
Before he could return home, however, Ted had some Garda duties to attend to, and found the time to address Gardaí at Dublin's Store Street Station about the importance of social distancing-- which may be what he was doing when he was separated from his owner!
