DERBY’S annual St. Patrick’s Celebration Ball takes place tomorrow night (March 9) at the Pedigree Suite at Pride Park Stadium.
Tickets for the black-tie event, which features a return of The Father Teds after a successful set last year, are still available and can be bought for £40 by calling Mary Murphy 07941 621 488.
The Celebration Ball, which kicks off at 7.30pm, is preceded by a special Gaelic Football Taster day taking place at 2.00pm on St. Joseph’s G.A.C. Gaelic football pitch at the Racecourse. The afternoon session is led by Warwickshire GAA development officer Stephen Ormsby.
The events mark the start of Derby’s week-long celebrations to mark St. Patrick’s Day. The annual parade is the centerpiece event at the city and starts at Market Place at 10am on Saturday March 16. This year the Birmingham Irish Pipe Band are special guests.
A number of other events, including film and traditional music nights, are taking place throughout the week and an afternoon programme of events will be held at the Derby Irish Centre on St. Patrick’s Day on Sunday March 17.
