WE RECKON this will be a popular stocking-filler this Christmas...
Way back when the explosively popular Derry Girls first aired on Channel 4, we were introduced to the character of Erin through her own words in her secret diary... being read out by her cousin Orla.
That's where it all began, and now three years later with a bunch of awards and a massive global fanbase, the popularity of Derry Girls continues to grow-- just last month, the cast were joined for a cameo from four-time Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan.
While Season 3 of the show has been delayed thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, fans still have a lot to look forward to-- such as the Derry Girls movie, which creator Lisa McGee confirmed is in the works.
And an official book to tie in to the show has just been announced and is set to hit shelves this November, just in time for Christmas.
The book, written by creator Lisa McGee, is called 'Erin's Diary: An Official Derry Girls Book', and as the title might suggest, is written from the point of view of Erin herself.
The surprise announcement came yesterday as Saoirse Monica Jackson, who play Erin, appeared in-character to read out an excerpt... and we have to say we're awful excited for this.
Check out the video below, and start counting down the days to 12 November, 2020 when Erin's Diary will be released to the world.
