AN American woman has been killed by three sharks while on holiday with her family in the Bahamas.
Jordan Lindsey, 21, from Torrance in California, was snorkeling near Rose Island to the northeast of Nassau when she was attacked at around 2pm local time (7pm GMT) on Wednesday.
Horrified relatives including her parents Michael and Kami Lindsey reportedly spotted the marine predators and tried to warn her, but she did not hear them in time.
The young tourist suffered devastating injuries when the three tiger sharks bit her left arm, legs, buttocks and severed her right arm.
She was brought to shore and taken to Doctor's Hospital in Nassau where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

The body of Ms Lindsey, who was a student at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, has been taken to a nearby morgue for a post-mortem examination.
In a statement confirming his daughter's death, Michael Lindsey said the family "already miss her terribly".
He added: "Jordan was 21 and such a great daughter and person... She was so caring. She loved all animals. It's ironic she would die getting attacked by a shark."
Ms Lindsey's younger sister Madison has set up a GoFundMe page to help the family with funeral costs and bringing her body back home.
She wrote: "Jordan Lindsey was a beloved daughter, sister, girlfriend, and friend.
"On June 26, 2019 Jordan was tragically killed from a shark attack in the Bahamas.
"Jordan had the most beautiful, gentle soul and she will be missed deeply."
The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation issued a statement expressing its "condolences and deepest sympathies" to the Lindsey family.
The US Embassy in the country said it was working to help bring Ms Lindsey's body back to California.
