Westport GAA offering stunning west of Ireland house for just €100 in unique fundraising campaign

Brought to you by Westport GAA

WESTPORT GAA in Co. Mayo have launched an exciting fundraising campaign which will see one lucky donor snag a local home for just €100.

The launch of the club’s new ‘Win a House in Westport’ fundraiser follows the success of similar campaigns by GAA sides in Roscommon, Meath and Louth in recent times.

Westport GAA hope to sell 10,000 tickets at €100 each in return for a chance at owning the A-rated four-bedroom detached property worth €325,000 in the picturesque seaside town.

There are also 9 secondary prizes up for grabs in what is the west of Ireland's first fundraiser of its kind – including a 7-night Mediterranean Cruise and cash prizes of up to €5,000.

Danny McLoughlin, who is leading the project, said funds raised by the initiative would be used to develop much-needed facilities for one of Ireland's fastest growing sporting clubs.

He told The Irish Post: “With men’s and women’s and children’s teams competing in hurling, football and camogie we now have 1,400 members, a figure that has more than doubled in the last six years.

“This has put a huge strain on our facilities here at Westport GAA.

“We vitally need to secure funding to develop our training pitches and club house facilities so that our club can continue to thrive into the future.”

Anyone who buys a ticket by 11.59pm on Monday, May 6 will be placed in a draw for 5 free extra tickets.

The fundraiser will run between now and Christmas, with the winner being announced in the official draw on December 29.

Westport – situated near Croagh Patrick on the Wild Atlantic Way – has previously been voted the ‘Best Place to Live in Ireland’ and is famed for its colourful aesthetic and bustling, family-friendly atmosphere.
