IRELAND MAY not be welcoming tourists from abroad or even staycations at the moment, but as soon as that changes we know exactly where we'll be headed.
An entire private island on Ireland's west coast is available to rent on Airbnb, and looks set to promise the holiday of a lifetime.
Based just off the coast of Westport, County Mayo, Collanmore Island Lodge may look familiar to anyone who has climbed the famous Croagh Patrick and has seen the spectacular view that greets you from the top.
Nestled in the gorgeous natural beauty of Clew Bay, the private island is just 10 minutes from the buzzing town of Westport-- but its likely that once you arrive on the private island, you won't be in a hurry to go anywhere else.
The Airbnb sleeps 22 people, and boasts a private beach with plenty of water sports amenities, huge green space to play games or kick a ball around, and even a private BYOB bar and cosy outside seating.
The lodge itself is just as impressive, with a hot tub, steam room and 12 pod beds that can hold 22 people-- perfect for special birthdays, hen parties, stag dos or a 'thank God the pandemic is finally over' party.
You can check out the listing and make a booking for when things are safe on the Airbnb website here-- but be warned, it's already extremely popular and might prove difficult to get the dates you want.
