WATCH: Irish golfer Shane Lowry hits incredible hole-in-one at British Masters

IRISH golfer Shane Lowry sunk a stunning hole-in-one at the Sky Sports British Masters at Walton Heath, Surrey.

The Offaly man needed something special to make the cut on day two of the tournament, and he certainly delivered with this incredible shot at the par-three fifth hole.

Lowry's approach to the 170-yard par three went right in the direction of the pin, and bounced twice before nestling at the bottom of the cup.

He had a terrible start to the day with two bogeys and a double bogey in the opening four holes but got back on track at the fifth.

Lowry finished up one-under for the day to leave him at two-over so far in the competition

Lowry wasn't the only golfer to sink a hole-in-one this week, as Eddie Pepperell sank his shot on the 9th hole yesterday.

Nor is Lowry the only Irishman doing well at the European Tour event, as three-time major champion Padraig Harrington and Paul Dunne have been showing off their short game skills on the course this afternoon.

England's Pepperell has the clubhouse lead as the tournament goes into its third day tomorrow.

Ryder Cup star Tommy Fleetwood held a share of the lead after an opening 67 at Walton Heath in his quest for the title and the £3m prize but he failed to record a single birdie in a second round of 77 to fall eight shots off the pace.

A 78 in the third round of the US Open is the only time Fleetwood has posted a higher score this season and he will be hoping he bounces back in the same manner. His closing 63 at Shinnecock Hills equalled the championship record and helped him to finish just a shot behind the winner Brooks Koepka.

Here's hoping the Irish contingency continue to play the way they have been for the rest of the weekend!
