FORMER Republic of Ireland player Paul McGrath has taken part in a new tongue-in-cheek rap song ahead of the European Championships.
The 56-year old, who played in three major tournaments for Ireland, has teamed up with drinks manufacturer Club to produce the peculiar track called Zero Compromise.
Whether McGrath’s latest release will eventually be considered in the category of best Irish football tunes is debatable, but the impressive dance moves from the former defender makes the video a worthy watch.
The song, which is clearly a plug for the brand’s Club Zero product, gives a humorous spin on all the lows and setbacks experienced when following the Irish national team.
Although not quite up to the standards of ‘Put em under pressure’ or Liam Harrisons ‘Give it a lash Jack’, it can now be added to a famous list of Irish football songs released ahead of a major international tournament.
