PAUL O’CONNELL cemented his already legendary status with his impressive answering of a hangman style puzzle on BBC’s A Question of Sport.
With only two of 23 letters revealed, O’Connell was given just one clue – it's sports related – yet he somehow pulled the correct answer out of the bag – Borussia Mönchengladbach, a German football team.

An astounded Sue Barker, the presenter, threw her cue cards over her shoulder, with no need for further clues, saying her famous line “let’s see if you’re right”.
Former opponent on the field and opposing captain Matt Dawson led the studio in a standing ovation for O’Connell.
However, perhaps the best moment in the footage was when O'Connell is visibly unimpressed at scoring only two points for his team, which also featured Irish racing legend AP McCoy.
