HOLLYWOOD actor Liam Neeson has shown he’ll never forget his roots after posting an online video voicing support for Antrim hurlers Cushendall Ruairí Óg.
Cushendall face Limerick’s Na Piarsaigh in the All-Ireland Club Hurling Final at Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day, and Neeson has urged his fellow Antrim natives to "bring the trophy home".
Appearing to be standing in the Glens of Antrim, Neeson – who actually hurled for St Patrick's in Ballymena as a schoolboy – shouts "up the Ruairís" before striking a sliotar with his hurl.
His ties to Cushendall stem from family members, who the Ballymena man often visits in the area when he's back in his homeland. Have a watch of the Taken star deliver his message to the Ruairís in the video below.
He hurled for St Patrick's in Ballymena but now he's a Ruairí Óg supporter!
