CELTIC were knocked out of the UEFA Youth League on Wednesday night and their cause wasn’t helped by an outrageous act of simulation.
Eventually losing on penalties after drawing 1-1 with Spanish side Valencia, a late attack from the Celtic Under-19s was prevented by a blatant dive from opponent David Pasqual.
With Celtic striker Jack Aitchison hunting him down, the young Valencia defender took a comical fall to the turf, claiming to have been fouled despite no contact tacking place.
Worse still, referee Craig Pawson was completely fooled into believing a foul had been committed, and duly awarded the Pasqual a free-kick.
