Troy Parrott is fit to play football again confirm Tottenham

TROY PARROTT'S parent club Tottenham Hotspur have claimed that he is fit to play for Preston North end once more

However Preston North End's game against Huddersfield this weekend will come too soon for the Dublin native.

Parrott joined the Championship side from Tottenham on loan, but suffered a freak hamstring injury in October, while celebrating his winning goal against Norwich City.

Speaking earlier this week, Preston's manager Ryan Lowe told Football London, "Troy is back on the grass now and continuing his rehab and we are putting finishing sessions on. He is doing fantastically well. He has got a date in mind and I wish his date was the same as mine because if it was he would be playing."

“We have got to be governed by Tottenham as well because he is their player. He is due to be assessed by them in the coming days and if they give him the green light then he can push on. Hopefully, we will get him back soon. It will definitely be in January.

“We are hoping for the Huddersfield game and if it is not Huddersfield then it will be the Norwich game. So that is a couple of weeks off. He is chomping at the bit now but we have to make sure that we do things right by him.”

Today Speaking in a press conference ahead of the FA Cup tie against Huddersfield, Lowe gave further updates on Robbie Brady and Parrot

“Troy has trained well the last four days.

“He has been given the all clear by Tottenham. Saturday might come too soon for him and Robbie, who is back on the grass, but we have to be cautious with them.”

Norwich City on Saturday week seems a more likely return for Ireland's duo.

Preston's game against Huddersfield takes place Saturday at 12.30pm.
