Tipperary hurler Noel McGrath to undergo surgery for testicular cancer

The Tipperary County Board have released a statement about star hurler Noel McGrath, who will undergo surgery for testicular cancer on Friday, April 17.

McGrath, who won an All Ireland senior hurling title with Tipperary in 2010, has been a hugely influential figure for the Premier County in recent years.

An accomplished Gaelic Footballer with his club, Loughmore-Castleiney, McGrath is also a former Young Hurler of The Year.

A statement released this morning said: “Noel McGrath will undergo surgery for testicular cancer on Friday April 17. The Tipperary senior hurling squad, senior hurling management, Tipperary County Board and all Tipperary supporters wish Noel well during this time and look forward to welcoming him back in the Tipperary colours in due course.

“We ask everyone to respect the privacy of Noel and his family at this time and in the coming weeks.”
