Three-time All-Ireland winner Pat Ryan has been omitted from Limerick's 2023 hurling squad

LIMERICK MANAGER John Kiely has left Pat Ryan out of his 2023 Limerick hurling squad for the upcoming 2023 season.

Ryan, who plays full forward for club side Doon and at inter-county level with the Limerick senior hurling team will not be part of Limerick's quest for another Liam McCarthy cup this year.

Limerick, who are chasing a fourth title in a row have also left out Robbie Hanley, Darren O’Connell, Brian O’Grady and Conor O’Grady.

The quartet have been deemed surplus to requirements by Kiely reports the Independent.

This comes days after Limerick's 2-17 to 0-22 loss to Cork at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

Speaking after the loss Kiely said: “It was a very tight game. We turned over a lot of ball in the second half that we wouldn’t turn over. We’d be disappointed with that

Limerick's next game in the Allianz Hurling league will be against Clare at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.

The Limerick gaffer added: “We don’t have long to dwell on it either because there’s another really tough game coming next weekend.”

That game takes place at 19:00 this coming Saturday.
