TG4 confirm additional live games for SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division

TG4 will continue live coverage of the 2023 SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division with a weekly broadcast of key matches. Four games are scheduled, starting with the Dublin duel between Peamount United and Bohemians today.

The other live games are Sligo Rovers vs. Wexford Youths on September 2, Galway United vs. DLR Waves on September 9, and Wexford Youths vs. Shamrock Rovers on September 30.

Spórt TG4’s Sacar Beo, hosted by Máire Treasa Ní Cheallaigh, will feature expert analysts and exclusive content on Spórt TG4's social channels and the TG4 Player App.

TG4 has previously aired four games this season, and a total of 12 games from the Women’s Premier Division will be broadcast. Galway United's game times on August 19 and November 4 are changed to 17:00.

TG4’s Head of Sport Rónán Ó Coisdealbha said: “We wish to thank the FAI for giving TG4 the opportunity to showcase the Women’s Premier Division on free-to-air television. We are really looking forward to all the soccer action these next few months.  “This is TG4’s third year broadcasting the top tier of women’s club soccer in Ireland and we are also delighted that there will be a new Underdogs series (women's soccer focused) in the TG4 autumn schedule.”

League of Ireland Director Mark Scanlon also said: “This is proving to be quite a special year for women and girls’ football in Ireland, at all levels of the game, and it is exciting to have such a dedicated partner in TG4 help us promote the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division as it enters into a crucial period of the season.  “The title race remains wide open and that is testament to the quality of so many teams in the League. We saw that in the first part of the season, where TG4 broadcast four games, and again in the recent Avenir Sports All-Island Cup.   “In each of the last two seasons, TG4 have been there to capture thrilling finishes to the League campaign and we hope this year will be quite similar with several clubs in the mix to lift the League title. We are delighted that TG4 are able to bring top level coverage of our League to a growing audience around the country.”
