A RARE set of signed inter-county GAA jerseys have gone up for auction to raise funds to buy a a defibrillator for a school in Lucan, Co Dublin.
The collection features the signatures of players, past and present, from the 32 counties in Ireland, including All-Ireland winners in hurling and football.
The proceeds of the winning bid will go to Gaelscoil Eiscir Riada and the set includes two from Dublin, one signed by the football team and another signed by the hurling team.
Signatures on the jerseys include Dublin footballers Stephen Cluxton, Denis Bastik, Emmett Ó Conghail and Cian O'Sullivan.
Meanwhile the Dublin hurling jersey features Conal Keaney, Ryan O'Dwyer, Liam Rushe, Paul Schutte and John McCaffrey among others.
Other notable names in the collection include Kerry’s Paul Galvin, Limerick’s Nicky Quaid, Kilkenny’s Henry Shefflin, G alway's Gary Sice, Mayo's Aidan O'Shea, Donegal's Michael Murphy, Tipperary's Brendan Maher, Cork's Eoin Cadogan and Clare's Brendan Bugler.
The auction opened on September 6, the day of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final, and will close on September 20 when the GAA inter-county season is wrapped up with the All-Ireland Senior Football final.
