IRELAND'S Shane Lowry and Seamus Power will tee off at the same time in the opening round of the Irish Open at Mount Juliet on Thursday.
Waterford's Power and Offaly's Lowry will also be joined by the six-time winner on the European Tour Tyrell Hatton in Kilkenny.
Power's last appearance on home soil came in 2019. He has been based in the USA since graduating from East Tennessee State University.
“I cannot wait to return to the Horizon Irish Open and play in front of the home fans for the first time since my win on the PGA Tour,” said Power.
“I have received so much attention and love from home since that win, and during my recent run of good form, so I’m looking forward to showing my gratitude at Mount Juliet in July.
“It’s a tournament which is very close to my heart obviously, and I had an unbelievable experience at Lahinch in 2019. The tournament has grown so much and has become a real festival for the Irish sporting public, so I’m sure it will be no different this year. Hopefully I can put on a good show for the fans.”

Lowry knows the course well and won the tournament as an amateur at Baltray in 2009 and expressed his delight at playing in front of home fans.
“Everyone knows how much I love this tournament and how much I enjoy playing in front of my home fans, and they’re always so supportive of me so I’m excited to play in front of them again,” said Lowry.
“I’ve been really happy with my form over the last few months and my game feels in great shape heading into the summer, so I really hope I can bring my best stuff to Mount Juliet Estate and put myself into contention come Sunday.”
Lowry, Power and Hatton will get proceedings underway at 8am this Thursday at tee 10.
US Senior Open winner Padraig Harrington will also tee off alongside Thomas Pieters and Lucas Herbert at 1pm on Thursday at tee 1
