AMAZING NEWS from the world of sailing.
A second Irish sailing team has qualified for the Tokyo Olympics, at the 49er Olympic Qualifier in Lanzarote on Friday.
Robert Dickson and Sean Waddilove have secured their place at the Olympics, and have done so with a race to spare.
The medal race will be sailed on Friday by the duo, though it won't necessarily be needed as the goal of qualification has been achieved.
Dickson represents Howth Yacht Club, while Waddilove hails from Skerries Sailing Club.
James O’Callaghan, Performance Director of Irish Sailing said: "The whole team have all worked really hard preparing for the Tokyo Olympics and qualifying today is a really important step, and a milestone for Rob and Sean.
"Qualification has given the whole team a lift and it's some good news for our fantastic support base at home."
Rio Olympic silver medallist Annalise Murphy has already been chosen to crew the laser radial boat, which has also qualified for the Tokyo Olympics.
Irish Sailing celebrated the news on its Instagram account.
