Sean Cox pictured wearing Dublin GAA colours ahead of All-Ireland final

DUBLIN GAA fan Seán Cox made a rare appearance on social media to show his support for The Boys In Blue ahead of their All-Ireland final clash with Kerry.

Seán, from Co Meath suffered life-altering brain injuries after being attacked by Roma fans ahead of a Champion’s League semi-final against Liverpool at Anfield in April, 2018.

The Irish father-of-three has been in recovery ever since but took time out of his busy schedule to show his support for The Jackeens.

Seán was pictured wearing a Dublin GAA shirt alongside his son, in an image posted on the Support Sean Cox Facebook page.

The post read: "C’mon the Dubs. Sean’s supporting the drive for five!!"

It's unclear as to whether Seán was in attendance for the match or watching along at home.

C’mon the Dubs. Sean’s supporting the drive for five!! 💙💙

But it was greeted with a widespread positive response on Facebook, with the post's comment section flooded with messages of support for Seán.

"Enjoy the game Sean and jack so pleased to see you smiling YNWA," one wrote.

"Great to see this man out and about," another added.

A third, meanwhile, wrote: "Wonderful to see you Sean on the road to recovery. Dubs forever."

Dublin GAA are aiming for a fifth consecutive All-Ireland final win but will have to wait another week to seal it after Kerry held them to a hard-fought draw.

Seán and the entire Cox family are likely to be watching again next week, given the special relationship they have with The Metropolitans.

An avid GAA fan, Dublin actually took part in a special fundraising match against Meath in support of Seán with all of the funds raised from the match at Pairc going towards the Dad-of-three's medical expenses.

Liverpool also helped out with a special friendly clash at The Aviva Stadium with an all-star Ireland team.

The occasion raised €748,000 for the Rehabilitation Trust and also marked Sean's first public appearance since the attack in April 2018.
