Scales signs new Celtic deal

Celtic and Ireland footballer Liam Scales has signed a new deal at Celtic. The Ireland international will remain at the club until 2028.

Scales has made over 40 appearances for Celtic since joining from League of Ireland side Shamrock Rovers in 2021. The 25-year-old made his debut in a League Cup tie at home to Raith Rovers the following month after he signed.

Scales has had to bide his time at Celtic, and he was initially sent out on loan to Aberdeen before returning to the club last summer. Since then, he has become a mainstay in the Celtic team and has also featured three times for Ireland.

Speaking on the club website, Scales said: “I am delighted to agree to this new contract and commit my future to Celtic.

“I have really enjoyed working under the gaffer and with such a great group of players this year, and I look forward to doing so again in the coming seasons.

“I love being part of this great club, and I want to do all I can to contribute to Celtic and bring our fans as much success as we can.”

Celtic play Hearts tomorrow in the Scottish Premiership. That game kicks off at 3.
