Ruislip Christy Ring Cup thriller ends in a draw

London 2-23

Kildare 2-23

After extra-time

SUBSTITUTE Luke Hands netted a last gasp goal at the end of extra-time as London claimed a draw in a Christy Ring Cup thriller at Ruislip.

Fergus McMahon's improving team led with seconds remaining in normal time before Kildare midfielder Mark Moloney batted a goal.

Despite playing into the teeth of a strong first half wind at the start London still departed on terms at the break, 0-10 each.

Four minutes after the restart Martin Duggan struck a goal for London, who were seven points in front with 12 minutes remaining.

While Kildare had Martin Fitzgerald sent off in the closing stages goals from Gerry Keegan and Moloney ensured extra time was required, 1-20 to 2-17.

Keegan continued to impress as Kildare were three ahead in the dying embers, but an opportunistic finish from Hands ensures a replay will be necessary at Newbridge next weekend.
