Rugby World Cup tickets up for grabs in exclusive Aisling Project raffle

TWO pairs of tickets for the sold out Ireland v France Rugby World Cup match are being raffled to raise funds for the Aisling Return to Ireland Project.

Donated by Pat Logue, of The Sheephaven Bay pub in Camden, the tickets - worth £600 in total - will get four people to the event which takes place at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on Sunday, October 11.

The prize also includes overnight accommodation for the winners.

But the prizes do not stop there - as fellow Aisling supporter Tom Corkery, of The Gallagher Group, has thrown a further two pairs of Rugby World Cup tickets into the raffle mix.

Mr Corkery has gifted the charity two sets of tickets to the Ireland v Italy match, which is due to be held at the Olympic Stadium in London on Sunday, October 4.

Raffle tickets cost just £2 each or three for £5 and are being sold at a range of pubs across London.

There are also a host of non-rugby prizes on offer in the fundraising initiative, including a week’s holiday in Ireland, courtesy of Trident Holiday Homes and Irish Ferries, four tickets to the Cheltenham November Race Meeting, courtesy of Avondale Construction, VIP tickets to the Aisling comedy benefit in November and tickets to see The Commitments at the Palace Theatre in London’s West End.

Aisling Coordinator Alex McDonnell told The Irish Post: “Buying a ticket for the Aisling Project Prize Draw will ensure that our supporters’ generosity raises much needed funds, not just for our charity, which supports homeless and vulnerable Irish emigrants in London, but also for Irish clubs and societies throughout London.”

The Aisling charity will work with the pubs and clubs that are selling their raffle tickets to select organisations in their own localities who can benefit from the proceeds of the initiative.

“We are partnering with pubs and clubs all across the Irish community in London who can nominate a club or society for a share of the ticket proceeds sold in that pub,” Mr McDonnell explained.

“Currently clubs such as the Munster Rugby Supporters Club, Holloway Gaels and Eire Og have become involved, but we are eager to hear from more clubs also,” he added.

“And we are very grateful that some of London’s finest pubs and bars have come on board to help ensure that tickets are available across London.”

The draw will take place on Saturday, September 12.
