Roy Keane up in court for road rage incident

ROY Keane is to appear in court in Manchester for an alleged road rage incident involving a taxi driver.

The 43-year-old former Ireland international has received a summons to appear before Trafford Magistrates’ Court after police received a report he had behaved aggressively in an incident in January.

It is alleged that Keane was involved in a verbal altercation with another man – named as taxi driver Fateh Kerar – at a set of traffic lights in Altrincham on January 30.

A spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Police said; “A summons was posted on 2 March 2015 for Roy Keane to his home address in Hale to appear before Trafford Magistrates court on 31 March 2015 for a Section 4A Public Order offence.

"This is in relation to an incident on Friday 30 January 2015 when police were called to Ashley Road, Altrincham to a report that a man had behaved aggressively towards another man.”

Keane, who is now focusing on his role as assistant manager of the Republic of Ireland soccer team, after quitting his Aston Villa post last year, will appear before the court on March 31.
