IF Roy Keane was your boss and your wife had just given birth, he’d still expect you to show up for work.
The Republic of Ireland assistant expects no less of Robbie Keane, who he says will be available to face Germany on Thursday “unless he’s breastfeeding” after the captain’s wife Claudine gave birth to their second child.
Roy made the tongue-in-cheek comment in reaction to a journalist’s question over his namesake's availability for the Aviva Stadium visit of the world champions, with Ireland looking to secure a play-off spot for next summer's European Championships.
Meanwhile, a statement released by the couple read: "Robbie and Claudine Keane are delighted to announce the birth of their gorgeous baby boy, who was born at 7pm on the 5th of October weighing 8lbs at the Cedars-Sinai hospital LA. Mum and baby are doing great. Robert [Jr] is already enjoying his new role as big brother."
