RORY MCLLROY lost his spot at the top of the leader board on the second day of the Travelers Championship.
Mcllroy shot eight under 62 in a bogey free round but couldn't replicate his opening day form.
Xander Schauffele who finished his first round seven under 63 did the same on day to go fourteen under 63.
McIlroy recorded six birdies in his first 11 holes, but hit a quadruple-bogey eight on the par-four 12th.
A double bogey on 15 came as result of him hitting his third shot into the water.

The Holywood recorded another birdie on the 16th
He ended the day with an eight under 70, six shots behind Schauffele
The quadruple bogey on the 12th was just the sixth of the four-time major winner's career.
"Yeah, it's golf sometimes I think," he said. "It sort of came out of the blue.
"I haven't made a big number like that or couple big numbers like that in a long time. When you hit a tee shot like on 12, the second one is pretty difficult, you know, and you're sort of guarding against the left one and I missed it right."
Mcllroy came into the Travelers Championship having finished tied fifth at last week's US Open and having defended his Candian open title, the week before
