MARTIN O’Neill has cause for concern as Robbie Keane risks missing out on Ireland’s opening Euro 2016 qualifier in Georgia next weekend due to an injury.
The striker is set to captain Ireland during the forthcoming campaign, but he did not feature in LA Galaxy’s 4-1 victory over DC United on Wednesday evening.
His club coach Bruce Arena refused to explain the nature of the injury and did not confirm whether Keane would be available for Sunday's tie with Chivas USA.
"Robbie is day to day now," said Arena.
"He might be available on Sunday. It was from the last game so hopefully he will be ready to go on Sunday but I am not announcing any medical updates."
