Ringrose declared fit for Friday's game against Leicester Tigers

LEINSTER HAVE received a massive boost ahead of their Champions Cup game against Leicester Tigers at the Aviva Stadium this Friday. Gary Ringrose has been passed fit.

The Leinster centre has not played competitive rugby since being taken off on a stretcher in Ireland's hard-fought win over Scotland in week 5 of the Six Nations.

He also missed the Grand Slam game against England and sat out his province’s draw with the Stormers and the victory over Ulster last weekend.

However, Ringrose has come through the Graduated Return to Play Protocols, trained fully at the end of last week, and will be available for selection this week.

Full-back Hugo Keenan has also been declared fit to play.

The mixed news for Leinster is that Caelan Doris and Josh van der Flier are touch and go for the Champions Cup game. Doris has also come through the Graduated Return to Play Protocols; however, he missed the game last week with illness and will be further assessed this week.

Van der Flier rolled his ankle in the second half of the game against Ulster and will be further assessed this week before a final decision is made on availability.

On the injury front, the United Rugby Championship leaders will also be without Johnny Sexton (groin), Jamie Osborne (knee), Rónan Kelleher (shoulder), Joe McCarthy (ankle), Cormac Foley (hamstring), Martin Moloney (knee), and Charlie Ngatai (hamstring) for the game.

Kick-off is at 8 pm.

The quarter-final will be broadcast live on RTÉ and on BT Sport.

Tickets for the game are available here.
