REPORT | Ireland WU19 4-0 Faroe Islands WU19

Two goals from Jess Fitzgerald helped the Ireland Women's Under-19s record a 4-0 victory over Faroe Islands in their UEFA European WU19 Championship Qualifiers.Head Coach Dave Connell made some changes to the starting line-up following their loss to Belgium in the opening game of Group A6 and those tweaks injected more energy into the team.Peamount United midfielder Fitzgerald led by example with two first-half finishes that put the Girls in Green in charge in Belgium and give them a confidence boost. This was a game where Ireland's neat passing style led to them dominating possession of the ball and pushing their opponents back, where they were able to register 15 attempts on goal.

They needed to wait until the final 10 minutes to add some gloss to the scoreline with goals from Shamrock Rovers duo Lia O'Leary and Joy Ralph but the mission was complete by that stage.Next up is a difficult game against Group leaders Netherlands, who have scored 11 goals in two wins so far. But Ireland have nothing to fear and can take a lot from this latest win.Ireland: Katie Keane; Aoife Turner, Kate Thompson, Aoibhe Fleming, Lia O'Leary (Katie McCarn 84); Jess Fitzgerald (Sophie Morrin 71), Aoife Kelly; Jodie Loughrey (Rola Olusola 71), Hannah Healy (Freya Healy 60), Ellen Dolan; Ceola Bergin (Joy Ralph 71).Faroe Islands: Gunnva Lutzen; Jorun Patawary, Anna Katrina Mikkelsen, Frida Jakobsen, Var Johannesen (Lisa Haraldsen 66), Natalia Dansdottir (Teresa Jacobsen 46); Solja Ernstsdottir (Lea Johannsesen 66), Jancy Mohr, Rakul Sorensen (Astrid Mitfloss 46), Anna Carolina Braendstrup (Susanna Laksafoss Godtfred 74); Petra Sigvor Snedker Hoydal.Referee: Jelena Medjedovic (Serbia)
