ASTON VILLA have appointed former Liverpool and England captain Steven Gerrard as their new manager today. This has sent some Rangers fans into meltdown as the Scouser makes his way to the midlands to manage Villa, who are in 16th.
Gerrard won Rangers their first Scottish Premiership title in nine years, their 55th. He leaves the club four points clear at the top of the league, with a Scottish League Cup Semi-Final on the horizon against Hibernian. They also are third in their Europa League group, level on points with Brondby.
Rangers fans took to Twitter to voice their view on Gerrard's mid-season exit. A section of Rangers fans have reacted in a similar fashion to Gerrard’s untimely exit with disparaging comments such as “snide” and “snake” mentioned among more irate replies to the club’s post confirming the announcement on Twitter, while other fans have accepted the news.

Hate to quote the Sun
But he's going nowhere, let's be honest, he's not gonna leave us at this point in the season and he knows his best shop at Liverpool job is by winning more trophies with us https://t.co/zW8RWce37I— G (@garryhood1872) November 9, 2021
Better luck next time Garry.
Other fans decided to break memorabilia as it dawned on them Gerrard has actually left

Here are some of the best quotes from twitter users.
Don’t think I’ve been this nervous waiting on an outcome since the time an ex said ‘I need to buy a pregnancy test’.
Is it just me or does anyone else think Steven Gerrard is just doing the honourable thing and attending villa interviews because of his friendship with Christian Purslow? I hope he doesn't leave and gets the full backing of @RangersFC, I feel he has more he can do here.
Don't wish him any harm but hope he fails miserably. He has let the club and supporters down badly.
Thanks for 55, but your empty words and decision to leave halfway through the season is unforgivable in my eyes.
