PREVIEW | Ireland U21 v San Marino U21

Ireland will look to earn back-to-back wins in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers when they take on San Marino at Turner’s Cross on Tuesday night. A win would see them claim six points out of six after they overcame Türkiye to win a dramatic game 3-2 - thanks to a 96th minute winner from Aidomo Emakhu. Ireland are boosted by the return of two front men to the ranks. Sinclair Armstrong, who made his senior debut against The Netherlands on Sunday, returns to the Under-21s camp and is available for selection. As is Conor Carty who has shaken off illness and trained with the team ahead of Tuesday’s qualifier. They will be without Sean Roughan who will miss the game after he was red carded for his celebrations following Friday's late winner.

San Marino are going to come and defend deep, put bodies behind the ball but it’s up to us to break them down. For me it’s about us getting the three points – that’s first and foremost.” Ireland Under-21 defender Bosun Lawal said: “Even before the game on Friday there was confidence in the group. When you look at the game against Iceland, we went down to 10-men and we fought back to get the win. We always feel we have that fight in us and on Friday we showed what we are about as a team.” Team News: Sinclair Armstrong and Conor Carty are both available for selection after returning to the squad. Sean Roughan out as he serves a one-match ban. Match DetailsFixture:  Ireland U21 v San Marino U21Date: Tuesday, September 12KO time: 7.30pmStadium: Turner’s Cross Stadium, CorkWhere to watch: RTÉ2Match stat: This is the first time both these teams have competed at Under-21s levelRepublic of Ireland Under-21 Squad
