IT MAY not have been billed as the main event at a sun-soaked Ruislip, but St Anthony's stole the show with a remarkable second-half comeback against St Clarets on Sunday.
The Reading-based club defeated St Clarets 1-09 to 1-08, but the majority of their scores came during a whirlwind spell in the latter stages of the game.
It was undoubtedly the game of the day, with the Irish TV Grounds having played host to three deciders on a stellar afternoon at HQ which was well organised by London GAA.
St Gabriels defeated Kilburn Gaels 2-12 to 1-13 to take the Ardent Tide Division One Hurling League title in the opening game, with St Anthony's triumph taking place before Garryowens defeated St Josephs 2-12 to 0-10 in the Intermediate Football Championship final.
Meanwhile, in Warwickshire, the big two went head-to-head in the showpiece event at Pairc na hÉireann and there was nothing to separate Sean McDermotts and John Mitchels just as there was nothing to separate them twelve months ago either.
Elsewhere, a dominant second-half performance helped Glen Rovers Watford beat St Dympnas of Luton 4-10 to 1-05 in an entertaining Hertfordshire Football Championship final.
