Paul Gascoigne challenges Snoop Dogg to boxing match over ‘alcohol abuse’ comments

PAUL GASCOIGNE has challenged Snoop Dogg to a boxing match.

The England soccer legend called out the US rapper during an appearance alongside Piers Morgan on ITV’s Good Morning Britain.

It comes after US musician used two pictures of Gascoigne, taken 27 years apart, to highlight the damaging effect of alcohol abuse.

The images came as part of an Instagram post that also featured two pictures of Snoop Dogg taken over the same time period.

While the images of Gazza were captioned “alcohol abuse” those of Snoop Dogg were accompanied by the words “marijuana abuse” with the American evidently keen to contrast the two.

The comparison has not gone down well with fans of Gascoigne though, many of whom are upset with the rapper for appearing to poke fun at the footballer.

Gazza’s alcoholism and mental health issues are well-documented and many saw the post as a direct attack on the popular star, with Morgan branding the post as nasty.

Now Gascoigne has gone on the record to respond to the post, telling GMB: "Sometimes I expect it from the English press, but to come from Snoop Dogg.

"I’m a fan of his as well, I cannot believe it. I tell you what I’ll do, I’ll do a charity boxing match with him, cannabis versus booze, bring it on!

"For him to do that is really bang out of order and I was upset at the time. I try to look at the funny side of it, but there wasn’t really much of a funny side to that to be fair.

"I thought, why me? I remember watching him ages ago and became a fan. He must [know who I am]. I was shocked."

The comments come just days after he took to Twitter to brand Snoop Dogg an “ugly tw*t.”

He wrote: "Morning @SnoopDogg get your lazy arse out of bed it’s walkies time woof woof you ugly t*** LOVE GAZZA xxx"

Snoop Dogg has yet to respond to the challenge.
