Patrick Phibbs pledges future to London Irish

LONDON IRISH has signed scrum half Patrick Phibbs on a two year deal.

Australian scrum-half, Phibbs, joined London Irish from Leicester Tigers as injury cover for Ireland International Tomás O’Leary in December 2012.

A product of Waverley College in Sydney, Phibbs has made seven appearances for the Exiles since joining the club including five in the Aviva Premiership. The scrum half made more than 70 appearances in Super Rugby with the Brumbies before moving to the Northern Hemisphere.

London Irish Director of Rugby, Brian Smith said: “Patrick Phibbs is a class act, his vast experience in Super Rugby and the Aviva Premiership make him a great fit for our club. Since Pat joined us at Christmas we’ve won six from eight games and he’s been a major factor in our improved form in 2013.”

Patrick Phibbs said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time at London Irish. There is a great group of lads at the club and a lot of potential to go with it. We have showed in the last few weeks what we can do and I look forward to pushing on with London Irish over the next few years.”
