Irish boxer Paddy Barnes goes toe to toe with bookmaker Paddy Power on Twitter over cease and desist letter

IRISH Rio 2016 boxing hopeful Paddy Barnes got into a Twitter spat with bookmaker Paddy Power over the boxer's new clothing range.

The bookmaker had issued the double Olympic bronze medalist with a 'cease and desist' letter, which Barnes took a picture of and posted on the social media website.

"What are ya doing to me? F*** off with your letter. Don’t need this training for Rio!" wrote the boxer in response to the litigious letter.

The cause of the dispute is the'Paddy' motif emblazoned on the front if Barnes' merchandise, which looks similar to branding displayed outside the bookmakers' shops across Britain and Ireland.

Here's Paddy announcing the new range on Twitter:

The outspoken boxer then hit back, telling Paddy Power and his 63,000 followers that the bookmaker to 'f**k off' while saying he doesn't need the distraction while training for Rio 2016

However, Paddy Power then asked Barnes to get in direct contact so they could "sort this out" offline

Both sides now appear to have been able to come to an amicable agreement
