GARY ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan’s proposed London bout on May 9 won’t happen - Australian Lee Sherrington will fight Chris Eubank Jr at Wembley Arena instead.
At a press conference in London on Thursday afternoon Frank Warren confirmed that a deal for O'Sullivan versus Eubank couldn’t be agreed.
"I've been very vocal in my pursuit of this fight," the popular O'Sullivan told The Irish Post on Monday.
O’Sullivan, his trainer, and promoter Ken Casey had hoped for a fascinating clash with Eubank Jr, but now the Cork native is expected to fight in Boston on May 23.
James De Gale faces a world IBF title bout with Andre Dirrell with O’Sullivan scheduled to feature on the undercard. With 20 wins from 21 contests O’Sullivan will be keen to impress in the United States again next month.
