NIALL O'BRIEN and Craig Young impressed on Monday, as Ireland scored a three-wicket one-day international victory over Scotland in the Dubai Tri-series.
Ireland remain unbeaten and now top the table, after delivering a second win - with 21 balls to spare.
Similar to Saturday's win against Afghanistan, Ireland established a modest target of 217. But the loss of early wickets, including William Porterfield and Ed Joyce, made the task at hand much harder.
O'Brien achieved a strong innings of 80 not out from 106 balls, hitting two sixes, and his seventh-wicket partnership of 61 with John Mooney led Ireland to within 13 runs of victory.
Mooney fell for 36, leaving Alex Cusack to complete proceedings with O'Brien.
Early on, Young had starred for Ireland claiming an initial three-wickets in quick succession, reducing Scotland to 45-4.
Matt Machin’s 86 helped Scotland establish the innings, but a determined performance saw Ireland snatch victory.
