STEPHEN CLUXTON heads the list of controversial omissions for this year’s GAA-All Star football awards.
The legendary Dublin keeper has captained his side to five All-Ireland titles in recent seasons, but Monaghan’s Rory Beggan pipped him for an All-Star spot this year.
The Monaghan stopper was in fine form in 2018 – and his accuracy from frees and ability to set his side on the front foot were key as the Farney County reached the All-Ireland semi final.
But leaving a keeper of Cluxton's pedigree out still looks like a massive call.

Conor McManus and Karl O’Conner also contributed to give Monaghan their best ever All-Star representation and the highest in Ulster this year.
Galway pair Damien Comer and Shane Walsh also miss out but Kerry forward David Clifford made the cut.
The Dubs still dominated, with Johnny Cooper, James McCarthy, Jack McCaffrey, Brian Fenton, Brian Howard, Paul Mannion and Ciaran Kilkenny all earning selection after another year of All-Ireland success.
