London GAA Chairman Noel O’Sullivan has admitted that ‘several companies’ are interested in the naming rights of the revamped Ruislip when it is completed.
At Thursday evening’s ‘Ground Breaking Ceremony’ at the Emerald GAA Grounds O’Sullivan admitted that it is something which is currently being explored.
"It is a possibility,” O’Sullivan revealed. “Negotiations are going on at the moment. Some businesses are very keen to name the ground so there is a possibility it could happen.”
GAA President Aogan O’Fearghail is hoping that the association will continue to develop in London.
“This is a special and historic occasion. As President of what now is a worldwide association - 20 per cent of the one million members are outside of Ireland. It is important that we recognise our family is a worldwide one.
“London has an incredible level of activity. There are 33 clubs affiliated to the London County Board with over 50 teams at adult level. We are committing close to £2 million sterling to this project. This will be a fantastic development.”
It was also confirmed that London's Allianz Football and Hurling League home games in 2016 will take place at London Irish's training facilities at Hazelwood.
