Midweek Betting Tips: Turning Times can clock up a victory at Kempton

Our tipster Karl Hedley tells you where to put your money this week

WEDNESDAY

KEMPTON

7.10, BRITISH STALLION STUDS EBF MAIDEN FILLIES’ STAKES (7 FURLONGS)

Turning Times was narrowly denied on racecourse debut at Doncaster on soft ground and she can atone for that here.

Ajaadat was beaten in a maiden at Bath last time but can also be expected to have come on for the experience. Andrea Atzeni replaces Jack Mitchell in the saddle and the duo look the biggest threat to the selection. However the booking of Adam Kirby to ride Turning Times could prove the key here and the combination are marginally preferred.

8.40, WIN BIG ON THE BETDAQ COLUSSUS HANDICAP (1 MILE)

Musaddas got a much-needed confidence boost by winning with authority at Thirsk on his latest start. He finished runner-up in six of his last seven races. Kieran Fallon clearly gets on well with this son of Exceed And Excel and they can make their presence felt back in handicap company.

Jack Of Diamonds is an all-weather specialist and managed a win over this course and distance back in 2012. Musaddas, however, can improve again with the assistance of his evergreen pilot.

THURSDAY

SANDOWN

6.50, BRITISH STALLION STUDS EBF MAIDEN STAKES (1 MILE 14YDS)

Ventriloquist bumped into a Sir Michael Stoute trained odds-on shot when last seen at Kempton in June. He gave the favourite a scare in the closing stages and was was only beaten by a little over a length. He pulled some six lengths clear from the remainder of the opposition suggesting it was quite decent form with the likes of Tom Hark and Mountainside coming out to run well subsequently.

Carnival King is expected to improve from his racecourse debut and this step up to a mile looks sure to suit. The Brian Meehan yard has once again hit form and he looks to be the biggest threat.

Adam Kirby though has an excellent strike rate when teaming up with Godolphin and Ventriloquist has to be high on any shortlist.

FRIDAY

NEWMARKET

8.20, 10 FREE BET AT 32REDSPORT.COM HANDICAP (6 FURLONGS)

Our Queenie should prove difficult to beat now that she takes a dramatic step down in grade. She has gone particularly well of late especially over this course and distance and has gone closer on each of those occasions. She was beaten only a length by Fast Track here a fortnight ago and with Richard Hughes on board she ought to go very well.

First Experience was only beaten a head at Epsom last week when attempting to follow up a recent win at Leicester. She was conceding nine pounds to Lady Crossmar on that occasion and was only just denied. This slight step back ought to help and it is of note that Kieran Fallon is booked to ride her for the third time in a row and they rate as the main danger.

Go Far has been steadily rising through the ranks for Alan Bailey and comes here on the back of a facile success at Yarmouth. She too is clearly going the right way and ought to be in the mix.

Richard Hannon should have a good line on the form of First Experience through his Lady Crossmar but Our Queenie is taken to land her first race of the season.
