Our tipster Karl Hedley tells you where to put your money this week
WEDNESDAY
SANDOWN
6.35, WIMBLEDON HANDICAP – 1 MILE 14 YDS
Alketios lost his maiden status with the minimum of fuss at Haydock last month and he should be able to make the successful transition into handicaps now that he has become qualified. Andrea Atzeni has struck up a profitable partnership with Luca Cumani and it is of note that he has been booked to ride this evening.
8.50, JESSIE J HERE 7 AUGUST HANDICAP – 5 FURLONGS 6 YDS
Perfect Muse can follow up her recent Newbury win with another gutsy effort for Clive Cox and Adam Kirby. This five furlong trip is ideal for her and she has made the frame in all bar one of her seven career starts. The form of her most recent win is working out rather well as the fourth (Dark Lane) and fifth (Ginzan) placed runners have subsequently come out to win.
THURSDAY
SANDOWN
3.05, IRISH CHAMPIONS WEEKEND EBF STALLION STAR STAKES (FILLIES LISTED) – 7 FURLONGS
Pack Together made a pleasing debut at Lingfield last month when she got up to deny the well regarded Sulaalaat. Richard Hughes once again takes the reigns on this daughter of Paco Boy and she is likely to have learned a lot for that experience. The Richard Hannon yard have a decent record at Sandown and it will come as no surprise if The Queen has another useful filly in her ownership.
FRIDAY
NEWBURY
4.30, JOHN GUEST HANDICAP – 1 M 2 F
Stormachion was held up at Epsom last month to see out an extra two furlongs. Things did not go according to plan and Miss Marjurie was able to get first run on the Sir Michael Stoute trained four year old. Stormachion should appreciate this return to ten furlongs and Ryan Moore is likely to ride him a good deal closer to the pace this afternoon.
