Mid-week betting tips: Jazz Master set for big run in Kempton

Our tipster Karl Hedley tells you where to put your money this week

WEDNESDAY

KEMPTON PARK

7-20      THE SPORTS BETTING EXCHANGE HANDICAP – 1 M 3 F

Jazz Master clearly likes a polytrack surface and the form of his most recent run is working out well. He was off the track for around four months when he finished second behind Arab Spring over this course and distance a few weeks ago and that individual has gone on to win a decent handicap at York since. Luca Cumani’s four year old is a dual course and distance winner and he will be all the better for that recent run.

Economy represents the Sir Michael Stoute team and as he also trains Arab Spring, he should have a tight handle as to how good the form of Jazz Master actually is. The improving son of Dalakhani will find life a bit tougher now that he is contesting handicaps. He is another that acts on the surface and looks to be the biggest threat to the selection.

Noble Gift doesn’t seem to stay this trip and Magic Hurricane needs to improve to reverse recent form with Jazz Master. The selection should be able to turn the tables on Presburg as he comes here a much fresher horse than when they last met in December. Luca Cumani and Andrea Atzeni are a profitable combination when they team up and they can go close here.

8-20      VISIT & DINE IN THE PANORAMIC HANDICAP – 7 FURLONGS

Victorian Number has gone well fresh in the past and is the only previous course and distance winner in this line up. All three of his career successes have come on an artificial surface and the most recent of those came at Lingfield last August. George Baker was on board on that occasion and it is of note that he rides once again.

Darnathean is still well handicapped on the best of his old form and could prove a threat with Richard Hughes booked to ride. It is worth bearing in mind that on his last six visits to this track he has been bitterly disappointing. Colour My World may well appreciate the return to an artificial surface. He is still a maiden after eight career starts, but he does have ability and Ed McMahon has booked Adam Kirby to ride from what looks an ideal draw.

Victorian Number has beaten Russian Ice and Princess Spirit in the past and can confirm placings with those re-opposing rivals. Geoff Deacon books George Baker when he thinks his runners have a realistic chance and the hint has to be followed here.

THURSDAY

GOODWOOD

4-25      BIBENDUM HEIGHT OF FASHION STAKES (FILLIES LISTED) – 1 M 1 F 192 YDS

Be My Gal was an impressive winner at this track last time out for Roger Charlton and she has only been raised three pounds for that runaway success. Being a daughter of Galileo she should have no problem seeing out this extra furlong and with James Doyle replacing Hayley Turner in the saddle there should be more to come from this exciting three year old filly.

Feedyah has some decent form to her name, most noably on her most recent start where she was placed in the UAE Oaks out in Meydan. With this being her first run since February she is entitled to need this outing, but if fully wound up she could prove a big threat.

Psychometry was well beaten on her seasonal reappearance behind Anipa at Chester earlier in the month. Ryan Moore is once again on board and with that run behind her she can be expected to put in a more positive display. Be My Gal can confirm form with the likes of Marsh Daisy and can carry on improving for her shrewd trainer.

FRIDAY

GOODWOOD

5-45      TURFTV FOR BETTING SHOPS HANDICAP – 5 FURLONGS

Gulland Rock showed a likeable attitude to win with something in hand at Catterick last time and may still have further improvement to come. The step back to the minimum trip was clearly the key that day and Martin Dwyer rode him with aplomb. Despite a less than perfect start he was able to recover in plenty of time to win going away. It often pays to side with sprinters when they hit a rich vein of form and if the ground stays good, he could well go in again.

Noble Asset is likely to prove extremely popular because he is a proven frontrunner. Goodwood has always been renowned for suiting types such as him. He managed to make all at Musselburgh last time for Peter Makin, but with Ryan Moore taking over in the saddle this time around the duo are likely to prove even tougher opponents.

Skinny Love is another with a consistent profile. Her two career successes to date have come on an artificial surface but if she can translate her form to the turf she too can make the frame. Gulland Rock will have come on from his seasonal debut and he can continue on an upward curve.
