Mid-week betting tips: Gang Warfare in good form for Kempton

Our tipster Karl Hedley tells you where to put your money this week

WEDNESDAY

KEMPTON PARK

7-50       IRISH CHAMPIONS WEEKEND EBF MAIDEN FILLIES STAKES – 6 FURLONGS

Simple Elegance is taken to add to Godolphin’s excellent recent record in this race. She was not beaten all that far at Doncaster on his racecourse debut and he can come on plenty for the experience. William Buick takes over from Martin Lane in the saddle and the duo are likely to make their presence felt on what will be their first appearance on a synthetic surface.

Abaq bumped into a smart looking sort in Alonsoa at Newbury on his racecourse debut. She too ought to improve for the run and with the yard winning this race last year they will be confident of a decent effort. She looks to be the biggest danger to the Charlie Appleby runner. Simple Elegance has to be high on the shortlist given the likely improvement to come this evening.

8-50       CASHOUT ON THE BETDAQ APP HANDICAP – 1 M 3 F

Gang Warfare has improved on each start for Ollie Stevens and he can finally shed his maiden status on his handicap debut. Three year olds have an excellent recent record in this race and provided that he handles the significant step up in trip, he ought to prove a tough nut to crack given his weight for age allowance.

Bobby Benton has shown a liking for an artificial surface having placed on this track as well as at Lingfield and Southwell. He was out of his depth in a tougher race at Sandown last time but has to be respected back at this level. He looks to be the main danger to the selection. Thecornishcowboy has proved a revelation of late but he has been beaten significantly on his two most recent starts here. He is vulnerable to an improver and is passed over on this occasion. With the stable in fine form Gang Warfare ought to go close.

THURSDAY

NEWMARKET

4-25       HASTINGS DIRECT SIR HENRY CECIL STAKES (LISTED) – 1 MILE

Hors De Combat put up the performance of his career when finishing third in the Britannia Handicap at Royal Ascot. He finished just one length behind Born In Bombay and he ought to find this somewhat smaller field more to his liking. Freddie Tylicki has partnered the three year old on all of his career starts to date and it is a positive sign to see him on board once again.

Toormore was a talented youngster last season, but he has failed to build upon that so far this year. He finished midfield in the 2000 Guineas before getting beaten once again by Kingman in the St James’ Palace Stakes. This is a big drop in class for the Richard Hannon runner and he commands respect. Hors De Combat is still only lightly raced though and can find the necessary improvement to give James Fanshawe a welcome change of luck.

FRIDAY

NEWMARKET

2-40       QIPCO FALMOUTH STAKES – 1 MILE

Integral showed that she had progressed from her seasonal debut when winning the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot. The step back to a mile clearly suited this four year old daughter of Dalakhani. She can confirm recent form with the likes of Certify, Sky Lantern and Peaceburg and with Ryan Moore once again booked to ride the combination look sure to go close.

Purr Along has changed stables since running at this track last season. She has shown improved form for Johnny Murtagh and she may cause the most problems for the selection. Muteela comes here undefeated but this is by far the most difficult opposition she has faced and she may have to settle for a minor role this time around. Sir Michael Stoute has his yard in red hot form and Integral can give him a first win in this race since Lovers Knot in 1998.
